Canskate & Hockey Ready

CanskatersIf you want to learn basic skating for fitness, fun, for entry into figure skating, hockey, speed skating or ringette, then this is the program for you. The program is set up in six stages (go forward, go backward, stop, turn, spin and jump) and is taught in a group lesson format. Canskate is taught by professional Skate Canada coaches and assisted by trained Program Assistants. Awards and incentives are used to motivate skaters to achieve and develop their skills as well as to keep interest high! Skate Canada’s Learn-to-skate program  is universal across Canada. The Program offers instruction to skaters of all ages. Skaters learn the fundamentals in a safe, active environment using a circuit-training format with professional coaches. This is a great program for hockey enthusiasts. No need to wait for a session to end in order to advance to a higher level. Skaters are continuously being monitored & advanced when they are ready.

  • Canskaters must wear a CSA Approved Hockey Helmet
  • Must supply your own Skates & Helmets
  • Wearing gloves or mittens is mandatory

We offer several choices in how you can join our CANSKATE program:    

  1. Join for a full season (fall and winter) as either a 1-day or a 2-day skater.
  2. Join for a half season (fall or winter season) only as either a 1-day or a 2-day skater.
  3. Pay the FULL FEE with either cheque or cash (get a 3% discount).
  4. Pay the FULL FEE with VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discovery.
  5. Pay in monthly instalments with 7 postdated cheques for the full season or 4/3 cheques for a half season. The Skate Canada fee (includes insurance) and SSCV operational fee must be added to the first cheque.
